1392	Haim Melca ⁵	Viana, Navarra	In 1392, Rabbi Josef Orabona is collecting the money the Jews owed to the government. One of the government debtors was Haim Melca, Jew of Viana. Those of Tudela, Viana, Estella and others were burnt. Because of the attacks, 10,000 Jews died. Haym Melca, Jew of Viana, is mentioned as a creditor of Miguel García Garanno: "[12] Item, sieylle una carta de Haym Melca, judío de Viana, en que es obligado Miguel García de Garanno, en quoantía 6 libras, 6 sueldos prietos. Plazo ha un anno seguient. Fecha, en Viana, 2º dia de jullio, era de 1424 aynnos".
5. The Melca family seems to have left Viana by the end of the 14th century, as no further documents were found showing any of its members still living there. (From Mirones Lozano, Eunate. Los judíos del reino de Navarra en la crisis del s.XV. Page 178).
